As an American citizen and young adult, I feel it's important to influence my peers about how important the presidential election is. This is YOUR future. I'm really glad the debate is on tonight so for those of you who are able to vote, please review the candidates and form opinions! If you aren't well informed of the candidates this is a good opportunity to hear from the candidates of their future plans and ideas.

I've also provided a couple of links for those of you who want to be more informed of things:

Vote For Change- Check if you're registered or register to vote!
YouTube- Great for interviews you might have missed from shows like The View, CBS Evening News, The Late Show, etc.
ONTD_Political- A livejournal community where I get most of my news related information.
-ABC News, CBS News, CNN, etc.

avant-garde!

I finally get to show you all one of the dresses I bought from Rhiannon awhile ago. I was taken aback on how much more lovely and beautiful it was when it arrived in my mailbox. I've also been watching too much Project Runway. I missed all the hype for the past four seasons but now I can successfully say that I am caught up with season 5, haha. :) I hope you all like the new layout, I drew the girl at the top awhile ago and I loved it so much I put her as my header :) For now I have to get back to my two essays due tomorrow :(

And to end, something coming to the store!

inspiration: zooey deschanel & veils

I'm anxious for the new Nylon issue with Zooey Deschanel on the cover to come in my mailbox. Her style is impeccable and she is so sweet and lovely. I also just got tickets to go see She & Him in November and I cannot contain my excitement! Check out her lovely out takes from this month's issue of Nylon:

Is anyone else falling in love with headband-veils that have been showing up lately? I'm absolutely in love with these veils that have turned into an everyday, but chic look.

what i wore to lose...

A couple of weeks ago I entered Teen Vogue's Photo Contest where you submit a photo of yourself that represents your 'great style' and the winner gets a flight out to New York and a photoshoot with Teen Vogue for the next issue. The winner is.... not me. Haha, well the top 20 finalists were chosen on Friday and sadly I did not make the top 20. Wendy from Hand It over though is a finalist and her style is so amazing and chic! Go vote for her :) Anyway, here is what I entered to lose (haha):

outfit post + a little ny fashion week inspiration

Don't make fun of me, but I sort of just threw this on so I could show you all my new leotard that I got for my ballet class, haha. The class is going really well- my feet are already sore! We're strictly supposed to wear a leotard with tights as dress attire so I went and bought this from a local dance store. Having this leotard along with my AA one makes me wish I could add more leotards to my wardrobe. They're just so easy to pair with skirts. I don't have to worry about pulling down my shirt or that annoying ruffle that goes on when I sit down.

I wore this to school today, another one of those AA knock off skirts from Walmart!

clothes, clothes, clothes

I know I said there would be a store update coming soon but having my camera broken has taken a toll on the already long delay. I've been thankful for people letting me borrow their cameras but I hope to get a new replacement soon. I'm really sorry about the delay, but I've decided to give these lovelies a new home through Ebay! You guys will be the first to know once things gets going :)

madeline

Believe it or not, over the course of this small amount of blogging I've been doing, I've really come to discover new ways to describe 'my style'. Someone asked me that the other day and I was at a loss of words. My style? I have no idea! I am definitely inspired by everything but I find a lot of 'childish' things so delicate and charming. To some people, it's a negative context but I can't help but gush over baby doll dresses, big bows, frilly trims and of course- children books. Madeline was (and still is) one of my favorite little girl heroines of all time. She was sweet and lovely but stood out from the crowd. I just bought the 'Mad About Madeline' big book of all her adventures but in French! I need to brush up on some of my skills. ;) Elle est magnifique!

How can one resist such a little fantastic tea set? I snagged this tea set (some parts missing) at a nearby thrift store.

The top is missing on the tea pot but I'm going to go back to try and find it!

From the back of the box of the tea set.

While searching all things Madeline on the internet, I came across this lovely polyvore! Even though her outfit is a uniform, it's still sweet and darling and really represented the style back in the early 1940's! (When the book was published!) Credit goes all to the maker, not me!

I'm in love with this new blouse that I picked up at a thrift store the other day. I should be studying but I'm reading fashion magazines instead, go figure.

happy labor day!

Oh, and look what I found... the same dress but with a different outfit from last year! Haha-

Terribly different, don't you think? I never wear leggings anymore and I don't think that headband or those flats have seen the light of day in forever.
